Looking for a fun summer treat or a light, refreshing breakfast? Grab some parfait glasses and invite your preschooler to create a delightful strawberry parfait. Not only will they have fun, but they'll also be practicing their fine motor skills and learning to follow instructions!
Begin by having your child carefully slice the strawberries using a plastic knife and cutting board. This is a great way to practice safe cutting skills.
Start Layering: Help your little one spoon a layer of yogurt into the bottom of each parfait glass. About an inch of yogurt should do the trick.
Next, add a layer of sliced strawberries on top of the yogurt.
Repeat the Layers: Continue alternating layers of yogurt and strawberries, creating a fun A-B-A-B pattern. Chat about the pattern as you go, turning it into a mini learning moment.
Finish Up: Repeat the steps until each parfait glass is filled, stopping to slice more strawberries if needed.
Gather the family and dig into your delicious, picture-perfect parfaits!
Want to make it even more exciting? Add another type of fruit! Try layering in some mandarin oranges, diced kiwi, or cantaloupe slices to create an A-B-C pattern. It’s a delicious way to add variety and color to your parfaits.
Enjoy creating and eating your yummy Strawberry Parfait Delight!
