Using Tiny Minies

Getting Started

How do I set up Tiny Minies?

Getting started takes about a minute:

  • Download Tiny Minies from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Open the app and tell us a little about your child.
  • That's it. The adventure begins.

Sharing your child's details is optional - you can skip onboarding and jump straight in. But we recommend it: it lets us build a learning plan made just for your child, so every activity fits their age and stage.

What's inside the app?

Two worlds, clearly separated:

The Kids Area - the world of Tiny Minies, with two ways to play: Discovery Mode, our playground where kids explore freely, and Play Mode, where you join in and find the right activity in seconds. Built for small hands, no reading required.

The Parents Area - behind a parent gate. Manage child profiles, set screen time limits, change the app language, choose what your child sees and follow their learning with detailed progress reports.

Kids Area

How does Kids Area work?

The Kids Area is your child's side of the app - the world of Tiny Minies, designed entirely for young children. No text to read: every step is guided by voice and visuals, so even the littlest explorers find their way in minutes, no adult needed.

There are two ways to play. In Discovery Mode, kids ride the train from wagon to wagon, and each wagon opens a different adventure - puzzles in one, songs in another, stories in the next. It's a safe, closed world where they can roam freely and every path leads somewhere worth going. In Play Mode, you join in and pick activities together, organized so the right one is always easy to find.

Switching is easy: just tap the mode icon in the top-left corner of the main screen.

Curiosity leads, learning follows - in both.

What are Discovery Mode and Play Mode?

Discovery Mode is our train playground at your child's fingertips. Kids travel from wagon to wagon and choose where to hop off: games, books, songs, pretend play, yoga and more! No set path, no "next level" pressure. That freedom to explore is part of the design - children learn best when they follow their own curiosity, and every wagon they open is learning in disguise.

Play Mode is where parents come in. Every activity in Tiny Minies is categorized by topic, content type, and learning goal - so instead of scrolling, you go straight to what the moment calls for: a counting game after breakfast, a story for quiet time, a calming meditation before bed. It's the fastest way to find a specific activity, and the easiest way to play together.

Two modes, one idea: sometimes kids need the freedom to explore, and sometimes a little guidance goes a long way.

Who are the characters?

Eleven friends live in Tiny Minies, and each one brings something different to your child's journey - an inventor who loves to tinker, a kind heart who looks out for everyone, and more.

Meet them all on our Characters page.

What are Party Games?

Party Games is where Tiny Minies gets social - a collection of games designed for more than one player. Siblings, friends, cousins, or a parent and child can play together on the same screen.

Taking turns, winning gracefully, losing without tears: that's real social-emotional learning, disguised as a party.

How do surprise eggs and the sticker album work?

As your child plays, surprise eggs appear - crack one open and a sticker pops out. Stickers go into albums, and completing an album is a little celebration all its own.

Here's what you won't find: streaks, countdowns, or rewards for coming back tomorrow. Surprise eggs come from playing, not from showing up on schedule. Kids collect at their own pace - and the app is just as happy to be closed as opened.

What types of content are there?

A full mix, so every kind of learner finds their thing - more than 2,000 activities across:

  • Games: interactive activities across all six developmental domains, from early math to emotions
  • Books, stories & tales: read-along and listen-along, with bedtime tales for winding down
  • Songs & music: for singing, dancing and language building, plus sleep music for the end of the day
  • Calm & mindfulness: guided meditations and kids yoga, for little bodies and busy minds
  • Pretend play: role-play adventures that build imagination and social skills
  • Printables: worksheets and crafts that take learning off the screen

Parents Area

What is the Parents Area?

The Parents Area is your side of Tiny Minies - tucked behind a parent gate so little fingers stay in the fun part. From there you can:

  • Manage profiles: add a new child, or edit name and age group
  • Follow their learning: detailed progress reports on what your child plays and which skills they're building
  • Set screen time limits: pick a daily limit; the app locks when time is up
  • Choose what they see: hide any content you'd rather skip
  • Switch languages: change the app language anytime
  • Manage your subscription: plan, billing and account settings, all in one place
How do I track my child's progress?

Open the Parents Area and you'll find detailed reports that turn playtime into a clear picture:

  • What they play: time spent and games played, broken down by category and content, in easy-to-read charts
  • How they're growing: your child's progress across all six developmental domains, scored from how they play and shown alongside their age group, so you can see where they're soaring
  • What it means: personalized pedagogical insights and suggestions based on your child's play. If your little one shows a real spark in art or numbers, we'll tell you - so you can nurture it

The best part? It all happens in the background. Your child just plays; the picture builds itself.

How do I manage child profiles?

You can add up to 5 child profiles in the Parents Area - perfect for siblings. Each child gets their own journey: their own learning plan, progress reports and stickers, all tracked separately.

Can we use Tiny Minies offline?

Yes! Tiny Minies is a great travel companion - long car rides, flights, holidays, or a tablet with no internet at all.

Here's how it works:

  • Games are ready to play offline from the moment you install the app.
  • Books, tales, videos, and other content work offline too. Just open them once while you're connected, and they'll be there when you're not.

Planning a trip? Before you leave Wi-Fi behind, open your child's favorites once, then you're all set for the journey.

Printables & Worksheets

How do I access worksheets and printables?

All printables live right in the app. Head to Worksheets from the home screen and you'll find three collections:

  • Progress Plan: a new pack every week, across topics like literacy, math, art, craft and coloring, matched to your child's journey
  • Seasonal packs: special collections for holidays and moments that matter: summer, back to school, new year, and more
  • Routines: checklists and charts that help little ones build healthy habits and self-discipline. Print one, hang it on the wall, and watch the proud checkmarks pile up

Tap any pack to see what's inside. When you hit download, the pages save to your device's Photos - print them from there, and learning goes wherever paper does.

And the shelf keeps growing: new printables are added all the time, so there's always something fresh to bring to the table.

Communications

How do I manage notifications?

You can turn notifications on or off anytime in the Parents Area → Settings.

We'd suggest keeping them on - that's how you'll hear about daily activity suggestions, new content, and what's fresh in Tiny Minies. We keep them useful, not noisy.

How do I unsubscribe from emails?

You can opt out anytime using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send.

But we'd recommend staying subscribed: your email is how you sign in to Tiny Minies on a new device and how you hear about new content, daily suggestions, and everything happening in the app. Opting out means missing all of it.
